Quarterettes on Beards: Liz Ruhnke
GQtr: You love a beard because....?
Liz: I admire beards because like having long hair, it takes patience & care to tend to a beard. Bearded men, in my opinion, exude confidence and respect.
GQtr: Is there any down side to bearded awesomeness....?
Liz: The only dislike I have towards beards is shedding. HAIR IS ALWAYS EVERYWHERE!
GQtr: Beard combs are a valuable tool, yay or nay....?
Liz: I think beard combs can be useful depending on the length and thickness of the beard. Is it a necessity? Not particularly.
GQtr: Men can spend up to £20 on a decent beard oil. Is this ok....?
Liz: I think of beard oil almost like any hair product I use. There will be high-end & low-end products, but I always stick with using coconut oil and have recommended its use to fellow beards I know.
GQtr: Would you be comfortable telling him if he needed to remove some left over dinner from his face forest....?
Liz: Leftover dinner in the face forest is an everyday task, and I am very comfortable letting him know it’s there. That’s what I’m here for!
GQtr: Is there a point in which the beard becomes too long? Is wizard level acceptable?
Liz: I believe there is, but it’s all preferable taste. I like a beard to have shape, and to be well-kept. I’m not a fan of the Duck Dynasty vibe…
GQtr: Who's your bearded celebrity idol....?
Liz: Greg Berzinsky. IG handle @berzinsky. He is a silver-fox with the most beautiful facial hair I’ve ever seen. He’s just divine.
GQtr: How important is regular beard grooming....?
Liz: So important!! Brushing it daily, applying beard oil, trimming stray/long hairs is something I have to remind my bearded fellow of.
GQtr: A world without beards would be.......
Liz: A world without beards would be comparable to that of a world without short dresses. Beards are sexy!
